Carolina is biologist with a Master degree in Biological Sciences and Environmental Management with professional experience in environmental impact and dependencies assessment, corporate biodiversity strategy, and international environmental frameworks and standards (SBTN, TNFD, CSRD, GRI, CDP , VCS/CCB, LandScale among others).
As a biodiversity expert at South Pole, Carolina is focused on supporting companies to assess their impacts and dependencies on biodiversity, set targets and action plans; and also designing Nature-based Solutions, innovative financial schemes (PES, biodiversity credits, offsets etc), and applying a sustainable landscape approach. She has supported private companies in their biodiversity journey to assess, strategize, set targets and finance action along their supply chains, in order to generate positive impacts on biodiversity.
