Lars holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. For almost a decade he was involved in water and carbon projects with special focus on East Africa. After several years working with the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag), he now supports the South Pole Group with the registration of 'carbon for water' projects under the CDM and Gold Standard and the assessment and design of community-based projects with water filters and fuel-efficient cook stoves. He lives in Addis Ababa, is married and has a son.
