Serena is the Associate Director of Digital Innovation at South Pole, driving the digital strategy for certificates across the carbon value chain.
She has 15+ years of experience in managing research and development projects on the deployment of large datasets, AI algorithms and drone technology. Prior to joining South Pole, she worked at the Dutch research and technology organisation, TNO, in the defence sector, leading a.o. innovation programs for the Dutch AirForce on the adoption of AI and autonomy in the intelligence cycle. Serena holds a PhD in Particle Physics from Nikhef/CERN and speaks English, Italian and Dutch.
