Thaney is a Mexico City-based consultant on South Pole's Renewable Energy Solutions and EAC portfolio teams. She specialises in renewable electricity (RE) strategies and due to her expertise in developing GHG inventories and setting SBTs, she advises clients on the best practices for disclosing the use of different RE instruments, aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, CDP, RE100 and SBTi guidelines. Further, she oversees and develops business for the sale of EACs and focuses on the supply of EACs for the Americas region. She holds a MSc. degree in Sustainable Energy Technologies from the University of Southampton in the UK and a BEng. degree in Biotechnology Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico.
