The project’s purpose is to generate hydroelectricity from Tranh River, a clean and renewable source, to supply the national grid via a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with the Electricity Corporation of Viet Nam (EVN). The project's installed capacity and estimated annual gross power generation is 62 MW and 230.7 GWh , respectively. The net electricity generated (with an estimated annual volume of 228.393 GWh ) will be supplied to the national grid via a new constructed transmission line from the plant to transformer station.
Modern, efficient turbines will generate electricity without damaging Vietnam's natural environment. As part of the plant’s construction, the roads in the mountainous area will be rebuilt, improving local infrastructure for the communities who live in the surrounding, remote villages. The project will hopefully spark more economic prospects in the area, bringing employment opportunities.
