The project Ulubelu unit 3 & 4 PT Geothermal Energy developed by PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE), is a geothermal power plant in Lampung, Indonesia. An estimated power generation of 867 GWh per annum will be supplied to the Sumatera Grid, with grid emission factor of 0.743 tCO2/MWh. PPA price around 9.7 cent USD / kWh (with PLN, Indonesian state owned electricity company). Project financing through Pertamina Corporate, from JBIC & World Bank. (this project is part of PGE group, may consists of 6 geothermal powerplants / package - while two were assigned to South Pole and one was assigned to Agrinergy)
As well as producing clean electricity and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Ulubelu geothermal power plant contributes to Indonesia's sustainable development. By investing in the region, the project is creating employment opportunities, which boosts the local economy. As an inexhaustible source of energy, the geothermal power plant also diversifies Indonesia's sources of electricity generation, improving energy security and driving the country towards a low-carbon energy future.
