The aim of the alliance is to make it easier for companies and organizations to voluntarily, vigorously and effectively finance CO2 offset projects in developing countries - for example biogas plants, wind power, solar energy or reforestation - and thus make their own CO2 balance climate-neutral. The financed projects avoid CO2 emissions or remove them from the atmosphere; at the same time they promote economic and social development locally.
Allianz is also committed to promoting the voluntary CO2 market as a whole, improving the political framework for voluntary CO2 offsetting and helping companies network with offsetting specialists and project developers.
