Leading climate change strategy and solutions company South Pole and energy efficiency specialists Ecovantage have announced a new partnership to bring together their complementary services and present Australian organisations with climate and energy solutions that support a company's suite of sustainability efforts.
The agreement will allow Ecovantage clients to reach a broad understanding of their emissions profile beyond scope 2 (energy consumption), as well as a path to climate neutrality—either using South Pole's best-in-class Climate Neutrality labels or under the Australian Government's Climate Active carbon neutral program. This will be facilitated via direct access to South Pole's unparalleled portfolio of emissions reduction and renewable energy projects.
In exchange, South Pole will be able to integrate Ecovantage's energy solutions into its pioneering five-step Climate Journey offering for clients in Australia.
Tom Schroder, Head of Climate Action at South Pole says that he is excited to launch the new partnership, which will see the two organisations working together to incentivise and accelerate transformative change here in Australia.
"To take effective climate action towards reducing emissions in line with the 1.5-degree target of the Paris Agreement, we all have to work together—our new partnership with Ecovantage does this," he adds.
The new partnership will allow customers to reduce their carbon footprint with Ecovantage, and compensate for remaining unavoidable emissions by investing in climate action projects from South Pole's unrivalled portfolio—connecting clients with turn key long-term solutions.
"The partnership with South Pole is a perfect fit for us as more of our clients seek to take the next step beyond reduction to neutral or even positive. We want to encourage and enable them to take that step!" said Bruce Easton, CEO at Ecovantage.
Ecovantage has supported hundreds of businesses across Australia in reducing their emissions through energy efficiency upgrades, having as a result reduced more than three million tCO2e across 13+ years.
This is not the first time Ecovantage and South Pole have worked together; in November 2019, the two organisations partnered to deliver a successful South Pole Climate Leaders Forum in Sydney.
