Leading climate solutions and project developer, South Pole joins a number of leading Australian organisations as a founding member of the Australian Government's new Climate Active Carbon Neutral Program.
On Friday 15 November, South Pole joined representatives from the Department of Environment and Energy and other fellow members of the Government's official carbon neutral program to celebrate the launch of the new Climate Active brand at the Sydney Opera House.
Climate Active is a new iteration of the Australian Government's official carbon neutral certification, previously the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS). The new brand is designed to better reflect the collaborative role that government, business and community must play in addressing climate change, with an emphasis on the importance of partnerships.
South Pole first achieved certification under the Government's official carbon neutral program for its Australian business operations in early 2019 for its 2017 and 2018 calendar years. Globally, the sustainability solutions company is certified carbon neutral against its own Climate Neutral label, which is aligned with global best practice (PAS 2060).
The Climate Active Carbon Neutral Program has been internationally recognised as one of the world's most rigorous carbon neutral certifications.
