"Working with South Pole has been one of the greatest experiences, professionally and effectively. S.C. Industry Co., Ltd. and South Pole has been collaborating since Chol Charoen Group Wastewater Treatment with Biogas System I (Chacherngsao) started in 2006. The project activity involves wastewater treatment from starch plant and capturing methane for gainful use for utilising in the boiler and electricity generation. The project has been certified under Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) with assistance from South Pole. Since commissioning, the project has contributed around 20,000 tCO2e of reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) annually. The project activity also brings a better air quality to the community i.e. less odour. The factory has been operating sustainably by using clean energy, reducing emissions, and creating job opportunity to people who live in the community."
