The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), with the assistance of South Pole, has been supporting the government of Thailand by implementing the project 'Advancing from Mitigation Ambition to Action' (A2A) funded by the German government's International Climate Initiative. The project, implemented in 2018-2019, aimed to help Thailand analyse additional social, economic and environmental benefits of achieving the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the global climate change Paris Agreement – with a focus on the energy sector.
This Scoping Study presents an overview of the potential for industrial development and strengthening local supply chains due to deployment of renewable energy in Thailand in line with the country's NDC, including an initial assessment of local activity along key value chains across various renewable energy technologies, mapping of stakeholders and relevant policies.
